Adding Purpose to Your Life

While looking through the internet, I came across this quote by Rick Warren.

The greatest tragedy is not death, but life without purpose

It resonates so much with me. I wrote an article on my blog about having to go on disability due to my Fibromyalgia and how that took away my purpose in life. https://fibroramblingsblog.com/2019/12/02/disability-due-to-fibromyalgia/

I have battled for years with this and have often felt that I have no reason to live as a result of this. It was then that I decided to do something about it.

I started my search for hobbies/interests that I could do while suffering from Fibromyalgia. This was not an easy task due to my many restrictions caused by Fibromyalgia. I did however manage to find some and I would like to share them with you over the next couple of posts.

I started Fibro Ramblings many years ago with the main purpose being to raise awareness of Fibromyalgia. It is still a very misunderstood condition and many sufferers have to deal with unsupportive family and friends. I still find doctors that do not recognize Fibromyalgia as a “real” disorder or condition. I find this fascinating as there is so much research being done and new findings are constantly being written about.

I stopped writing this blog for a while as I was battling to deal with my condition, my depression and my acceptance of my diagnosis. While I did put out some educational posts, I could not continue writing the blog until I had found myself and accepted the new me with Fibromyalgia. I have finally managed to do this and have now being able to return to writing for my blog.

This has been a good thing as I feel that some of my advice, research and shared personal experiences are able to help some sufferers out there. With that, before anything else, I managed to add some purpose to my life. While there are days or weeks that I am unable to work on my blog, I do manage to find times, here and there, and it has been a valuable experience.

I love to hear from fellow sufferers from around the world about their personal experiences with Fibromyalgia or how they have managed to find a note worthy treatment that really helps them. I find pleasure in posting this information on my blog as it might help other sufferers. I also found that writing my own personal experience with Fibromyalgia was in some way healing and a release.

I will be glad if my blog changes just one persons life or if one person can find some information helpful. The fact that people all over the world can connect so easily with a common purpose … to find out that they are not alone in their suffering. People find comfort in this as many of them have no other support system.

If you would like to share your personal experiences with Fibromyalgia, please contact me on fibroramblings@gmail.com … who knows, your experience may be able to help another sufferer and for that it will all be worth it.

Look out for the next series of posts as they will be covering other hobbies that can add purpose to your life.
